Questa ricchissima famiglia di civile condizione, oriunda di Cipro, si trasportò a Venezia dopo la caduta di quel regno, ove esercitò la mercatura. Nel 1649 addì 11 dicembre, Vincenzo e Girolamo ottennero il patriziato veneto, mediante l'esborso dei 100 mille ducati, e la supplica da essi presentata, fu ballottata in Senato il 5 dicembre 1649 con voti favorevoli 105, contrari 54, non sinceri 17, proposta ed approvata nel Maggior Consiglio l'11 dicembre detto anno, con voti favorevoli 533, contrari 440, non sinceri 35. Il primo valente avvocato, e si meriò la stima universale, ed insieme al fratello, mediante altra offerta di ducati 100 mille vennero tutti e due insigniti della dignità procuratoria di S. Marco de Citra. La famiglia contribuì con 30.000 ducati alla edificazione della chiesa di S. Moisè, la quale, se non risplende per bellezza architettonica, perchè dimostra la decadenza dell'arte, pure è ammirabile per la sua facciata,
