Famiglia, assai antica e nobile, oriunda di Ferrara. Nel 1466 era stata investita dai Duchi d'Este di un generoso feudo nobile situato nelle ville di Barbuglio e Sagusto. Tale investitura fu riconosciuta dalla Repubblica Veneta con Ducale 27 Mag. 1773, e rinnovata nel 1816 sotto l'impero austriaco. Nel 1653 fu aggregata al Consiglio nobile di Lendinara, e nel 1829 ottenne la conferma di sua nobiltà con sovrana risoluzione del 26 Nov. Altro ramo. Verso la metà del XVI secolo erano al servizio militare dei Signori di Pesaro due di questo cognome: Matteo, detto da Busseto, e Giacometto, originario di Cajazzo. Non si sa se fra essi vi fosse affinità. I fratelli Trajano e Paolo, figli di Giacometto, sostennero cariche importanti sotto i Della Rovere. Il secondo fu Vescovo di Cagli. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Cajazzo in Terra
