Capostipite è Albertolo, padre di Francescolo, altro dei XII di Provvisione, questore delle Entrate Ducali, deputato della Fabbrica del Duomo. Il figlio di lui, Donato, era fra i componenti del Consiglio generale nel 1403 e nel 1409 e patrono della cappella dei SS. Giacomo e Filippo in S. Carpoforo. Ebbe per figli un altro Antonio, da cui la linea ammessa al patriziato milanese nel 1730 e Pietro, pure del Consiglio Generale, patrono della chiesa di S. Pietro in Gallarate, ove aveva il sepolcro gentilizio. Da questi, per varie generazioni, discesero i fratelli Francesco, canonico ed Antonio, avvocato, i quali per decreto 22 agosto 1775 ottennero il riconoscimento dell'antica nobiltà e la delineazione dell'arma nel codice araldico. Il figlio di quest'ultimo, Ignazio, fisico, col nipote Ambrogio, ingegnere, con sovrana risoluzione 26 marzo 1826 ottennero la conferma dell'antica nobiltà.
