Nobile famiglia di Basilicata che prese il cognome dalla terra di Lauria di sua signoria. Si stabilì in Sicilia nel 1292 con Ruggiero Lauria grande almirante. Antonio fu ai servigi militari del re Ludovico, ed un Erasmo figurò non poco nel Caso di Sciacca parteggiando pei Luna. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia di Mantova. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane. Altro ramo. Nobile famiglia di Basilicata, ascritta al patriziato di Cosenza, ed oggi estinta. Si trapiantò in Sicilia nel 1292 sotto Giacomo I di Aragona. Ebbe le signorie di Abatemarco, di Lagonegro e di Castelluccio di Calabria. Altro ramo. Originaria di Treviso, e trapiantata in Castelfranco fino dal 1199. Gianrinaldo, gran capitano nell'esercito degli Scaligeri, nel 1500 si pose a servizio della Veneta Repubblica.
