Antica e nobile famiglia di Treviso. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane. L'origine di questo cognome è dovuto al nome medioevale Oro che veniva attribuito ai figli particolarmente graditi ma non ci sono documenti o atti in archivio. Da un'antica bibliografia stampata in Firenze dalla tipografia delle Murate nell'anno 1866, intitolato "Libro dei nobili veneti, ora per la prima volta messo in luce", come rilevasi dall'opera summenzionata la famiglia è originaria del Veneto. La famiglia Loro alzò per arma. D'oro all'aquila bicipede. Nel corso dei secoli famiglie omonime della stessa si trasferirono in varie regioni d'Italia, ma l'antichità della presente famiglia accompagnata con la scarsezza delle scritture non lascia scorgere il principio della loro nobiltà.
