Sul principio del secolo XV un Luchinus, fratello di Pietro da Pergola (Umbria), figlio di magistri Stefano fisico, in S. Giovanni Novo di Venezia, in una linda casetta, oggetto di cure di sua moglie Agnesina e delle figlie Pantasilea e Camilla, teneva scuola di umanità. Ed è da colà, precisamente, che s'inizia il casato dei Lucchini o Luchini, che poi si diffuse nel Veneto. Nel mantovano si annovera il monaco cassinense Luchini P. D. Domenico, autore della Storia della principessa Matilde; ad Imola il medico e filosofo Paolo Emilio Lucchini insegnò per un ventennio belle lettere, e morì nel 1649 a Bologna, ove la famiglia Lucchini, al dire del Canetoli, era compresa tra le nobili e patrizie. I Luchini esercitarono il notariato nel trevigiano, e li troviamo, ancora, fra i cittadini del veronese ed a Brescia. Un ramo di questa famiglia, da Trento, si trasferì a Bergamo, indi a Venezia,
