Ancient and very noble Lombard family, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy and the world. Known as Lugano, de Lugano, from Lugano or Lugani, it moved from that city, between the 12th and 14th centuries, primarily to Piedmont. In fact, already in 1310 some nuclei flourished in Pedemonte from whence they branched out to Tortona and Pozzolo Formigaro. Some settlements were also registered in the Ligurian territory.
