Tre sole voci, le uniche reperite, attestano la presenza dei C. in Tortona dei quali ignoriamo la provenienza e l'esatto periodo della loro permanenza: la prima è tratta dalle "Opere edite ed inedite" II vol. del Massa Saluzzo ove a pag. 178 riferisce che il notaio Guarnerio C. il 19 novembre 1548 roga atto comprovante l'ascrizione al casato Busseti della famiglia Massa appartenente al decurionato tortonese; il Carnevale ricorda nei suoi "Uomini Illustri" pag. 178 il decurione tortonese Contardo C. ascritto al casato di Casanova nato nel 1560: fu questore dal 1606 al 1615, versato nelle cose patrie scrisse memorie sul patriziato tortonese, sovente consultato dagli oratori suoi concittadini residenti a Milano; consigliere fraterno, paciere ed arbitro stimato morì tra il compianto unanime il 26 marzo 1624; infine rileviamo dalla "Matriocola dei notai che rogarono nel Tortonese tra il XIV ed il XVIII sec." che Pio Gaspare C. del fu
