Tratto da "Teatro genealogico delle famiglie del Regno di Sicilia Vol. I". Non si è possuto ritrovar fin'hora d'onde derivasse in Sicilia la famiglia Lurgio, percioché così in Catania, come in Sacca antica, e nobile la si vegge e questa massima (che quanto, è più certo l'origine, tanto più si mostra antica la famiglia) è molto a lei favorevole. Ella dunque nel reggimento del Re Federico II in ambedue le città con splendore visse, percioché l'arme della famiglia Lurgio di Sacca, che sono una imbordata d'oro, con tre stelle d'oro, cioè una per ogni canton dell'imbordata, ed una sotto, in campo azzurro, si veggono scolpite dentro la maggior Chiesa della medesima Città circa gl'anni del 1208, le quali fanno giusta fede d'antica nobiltà fanno anche il medesimo alcuni antichi marmi con le medesime armi scolpite sovra il portico del monastero di Santa Maria delle Giumare, fuor della medesima Città,
