Famille très ancienne, extrêmement puissante au Moyen Age, seigneur de Valdinoce, Monte Liccio, Bardi et Parpiana. Ce patronyme, selon d'illustres généalogistes, témoignerait de la claire matrice lombarde de la famille. La forme du patronyme Lusardi, en effet, est caractérisée par le suffixe "? Ard", du nom germanique "Hardhu" (= forte, valoros) et cela lui permet d'être considéré comme appartenant aux noms composés de la tradition lombardo-franconienne . En tout cas, la famille Lusardi était l'une des plus anciennes de la lignée féodale du Val Taro. La tradition veut que l'ancêtre de cette famille soit un Platon de Platis, qui vécut au début du XIe siècle, dont les fils se partagèrent les propriétés le 5 octobre 1022. La division eut lieu en six parties, exactement comme l'étaient les fils de Platon : Allinerius, Franzotus, Rolandinus, Luxiardus, Begarolo et Antonius.
