Vengono da Milano, sono in Roma da 300 anni in circa, poichè del 1004 sotto il 23 di aprile furono fatti, come racconta Anton de Petris, sette signori della città, tra quali fu Lorenzo de Macarini del Rione di Trastevere, il quale sotto il X di Agosto 1414 fu ucciso in Tivoli, e portato il giorno seguente alla sepoltura in San Giuseppe di Roma. Nel Catasto del Salvatore si legge: Franciscus Maccarano sepolto in San Gregorio pure di Trastevere 15 gennaio 1466 e nel med. Catasto Dña Lucretia filia Gasparis de Ceccho, et uxor Tiberij Macarani sepulta in SS. Celso et Juliano 1508. Hanno parentato colli Cesj, Centelli, de Quinque, Sanguigni, Capisacchi, Luraghi, Ximenes, Visconti, Cinthij, e colli Cecci. Paolo Gentiluomo intnditissimo, m'ha fatto vedere Istromenti autentici in carta Pergamena. Il primo del 1519, nel quale: Nobilis et honesta milier Dña Clementia instituit haeredem Dñam Cristopheram Cinthiam ejus Matrem uxorem
