Antigua y noble familia toscana, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido por todo el mundo, a lo largo de los siglos. Es originario de la ciudad de Florencia, y pertenecía al gonfalon San Giovanni, barrio Drago. Se creó una importante rama familiar nobiliaria de San Marino en el siglo XVII.
