Ancienne et très noble famille des Marches, avec résidence à Jesi et Pérouse, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Selon ce qui nous est transmis, il est d'origine romaine mais en tout cas les premières informations historico-héraldiques remontent au XVIe siècle, avec un certain Giovan Francesco, dit Magagnino, conseiller à Jesi en 1502. D'autre part , la famille Magagnini s'est toujours distinguée par le caractère noble, spirituel et mondain de ses représentants. Nous rappelons : Agnese Magagnini, décédée en 1672 à l'âge de dix-neuf ans, dans le concept de sainteté ; Pietro Paolo Magagnini, mort en 1695 en combattant pour la République de Venise ; Giovan Bartolomeo et Carlo Felice, mort en 1684 au service du Roi Catholique ; Giovanni et Gaspare Magagnini qui, avec leurs descendants, avec un diplôme du 28 mars 1604, ont été agrégés au Patriciat de Pérouse; abbé
