Linaje navarro, muy noble y antiguo. Procede, según algunos autores, de Pedro de Maguelone, Capitán del Conde de Maguelone o Maguelona, ciudad enclava en el bajo Languedoc, en Francia, que figuraba entre los caballeros francos que, con el Conde de Perche, vinieron a Navarra y entraron en Tudela, en 1114. Esto dice la tradición. Sin embargo, la sucesión de esta casa no aparece comprobada documentalmente hasta 1385. Desde luego, la rama navarra radicó en Tudela y en su Catedrale capilla de San Sebastián, tuvo su entrerramiento. Pedro de M. y Añués casó con doña Francisca de Veraiz Ruiz de Vergara y Agramont, hija de los Señores de San Adrián, y de ellos descienden los sucesivos Señores de San Adrián, Señores de Monteaguado, Marqueses de San Adrián y Castelfuerte, Grandes de España.
