Famiglia di remote origini, oriunda da Saint Genix, nel Belley, che venne in Piemonte verso la metà del secolo XVI in persona di Pietro, che nel 1351 possedeva beni terrieri in Bagnolo. Amedeo fu castellano di Chanaz e di Rochefort, scudiere e Magister hospicii del principe d'Acaia, che gli affidò missioni al conte di Savoia e all'Imperatore, che lo creò cavaliere aerato. Ebbe il feudo di Bagnolo il 7 settembre 1412 dal principe d'Acaia, feudo che gli fu confermato dall'Imperatore Sigismondo di Lussemburgo e da Amedeo VIII di Savoia nel 1415, e da Amedeo VIII il 9 febb. 1417. Questo feudo venne eretto in titolo comitale il 18 dic. 1688 a favore di Guglielmo Amedeo, di Bartolomeo, in seguito all'acquisto delle porzioni di esso feudo già possedute dal conte Ferraris. Da costui nacque Giambattista, che venne investito di Bagnolo l'11 settembre 1743, e che procreò, fra gli altri Guglielmo,
