O Baronio, um valente e instruído cardeal bibliotecário do Vaticano, em seu Annales eccl. Os Manassei, pela excepcional consideração que gozavam em Roma e na Úmbria, cobriram lisonjas e altos cargos e obtiveram honras incomuns.
