La famiglia Mancinelli Scotti trae origini in epoca antichissima da Narni ove coprì le prime cariche del Comune, come quelle di capi dei priori, di Priori, di Gonfalonieri e di Anziani. Scipione fu commensale dell'Imperatore Carlo V. Domenico nel 1818 fu Arcivescovo di Cosenza. Appartenendo a nobiltà generosa ottenne più volte l'ascrizione nell'ordine di Malta. Essendosi nel XVIII secolo estinta la famiglia dei Conti Scotti di Amelia, la famiglia ne assunse per eredità il cognome e lo stemma. Carlo, fu console generale e decorato di numerose decorazioni italiane ed estere. Era nato il 24 gennaio 1862, ed è morto il 13 maggio 1920. Lo stemma della famiglia Mancinelli Scotti si blasona: Partito di Mancinelli, che è ripartito; a destra di azzurro al leone d'oro tenente una rosa al naturale, con la fascia del secondo attraversante; a sinistra d'oro alla mezza aquila bicipite di nero, coronata del campo, movente dalla partizione;

Partito di Mancinelli, che è ripartito; a destra di azzurro al leone d'oro tenente una rosa al naturale, con la fascia del secondo attraversante; a sinistra d'oro alla mezza aquila bicipite di nero, coronata del campo, movente dalla partizione; e di Scotti, che è: d'oro alla banda di verde accompagnata in capo da una cometa d'argento posta in palo, ed in punta da un moro al naturale, vestito di rosso, nascente dalla punta, rivoltato.
