La famiglia Mancuso di Toromena, hoggi è feudataria, della Baronia Fiumefreddo, e Sanbasili, la quale è possessa di don Domenico Mancuso, ed Averna: le cui due sorelle, una fù moglie del Marchese di Pinto d'Attolo, e l'altra di don Cesare Alagona, e congiunta parimente con la famiglia Croppo, di cui don Gio.Groppo,e M. Barone Belmontino nè pervenne. E fra gl'antichi di lei ho ritrovato Girolamo Mancuso cognato di don Ambrogio Salsono, che ambedue hebbero il titolo di Regij Cavalieri, dell'Imperador Carlo Quinto, nel 1522. Gio.Francesco Mancuso fù Giudice Straticotiale di Messina nel 1595, con Gio. Paolo d'Antona, e Lucio Dente. Don Domenico si casò con donna Violante di Marino nobile Messinesa.
