Le più antiche notizie sulla famiglia Manenta o Manenti (De Manentibus) risalgono al 29 luglio 1320 in cui Andrea, prete di S.Ternita in Venezia, rogò il testamento di Grima, moglie del fu Paolo Manenta, ben fornita di mezzi, e madre di Payse. Più tardi le memorie a Venezia vengono meno: una famiglia dimorava (1622) a S.Felice, e Adriana Manenta, del fu Domenico, moglie di Domenico Coprano (1777), aveva casa in Procuratie Vecchie a S.Geminiano. Solo dei Manenta si hanno in Venezia varie memorie, ed attualmente vivono a Roma ed a Milano. Non è improbabile che dalla città delle lagune qualcuno abbia nel secolo XIV emigrato altrove, poiché si trovano citati nei manoscritti del Paggio a Genova; nei battezzati di Cefalonia; nelle relazioni venete con la Slavonia; a Brescia ed a Mantova; anzi nel 1° ottobre 1427 a Montechiari, paese sito tra queste due città, Stefano di Tonolo giurò, con altri
