Questa famiglia era assai civile e stimata nel ceto dei negozianti di Padova; e quando prese stanza in Venezia, coi diversi traffici acquistò molte ricchezze che le permisero, mediante l'esborso dei 100 mille ducati, ottenere il patriziato veneto, il che avvenne l'8 febbraio 1698 dopo due deliberazioni, nella prima delle quali era stato deciso contrariamente all'aggregazione, inquantochè per affari rovinosi precedentemente conchiusi erano stati dichiarati falliti. L'istanza presentata dai fratelli Pietro ed Antonio e dal nipote Giuseppe, figlio di un altro loro fratello, venne ballottata il 18 gennaio 1698 in Senato con voti favorevoli 127, contrari 47, non sinceri 4, e proposta nel Maggior Consiglio riportò la seguente votazione: addì 25 gennaio 1698, voti favorevoli 377-396, contrari 17-70, non sinceri 21-20, e non fu approvata. Addì 8 febbraio 1698, voti favorevoli 624, contrari 56, non sinceri 12.
