The oldest memory of this illustrious Milanese family dates back to 962, the year in which Boschino Mantegazza flourished, the family and squire of that Tazio Mandello that Emperor Otto I made lord of Taccagno. Giovanolo Boschino M., leader of the Alemannic people in 1080 and 1081, Michele Boschino M., captain general of the Pavesi connected in 1124 to many thousands of other Lombards to go to the Holy Land to fight the infidels, Boschino VII, supreme leader of the Milan; Giovanni, son of the previous one, who also fought in Campomorto, and in 1119 was among the 35 nobles who signed the decree, so the Milanese, at the request of the monk Bernardo, granted the exemption of any tax to the church of San Giuseppe da they built in Pontida.
