E' un ramo della omonima famiglia di Pisa trapiantato in Sicilia al tempo del Re Alfonso da un Torpè, il quale fu capitano d'armi della valle di Mazzara sotto il re Giovanni. Il 24 Nov. 1812, fu concesso a Federico Manzone il titolo di conte. Altro ramo. Torpè di Federico del Mansone fu priore del Comune di Pisa negli anni 1427, 1435, 1441, 1448, 1449 e 1450, e dopo lui il figlio Lodovico nel 1494. Altro ramo. Venne in Sicilia, e nella città di Palermo, da Pisa nel reggimento del Rè Alfonzo, la famiglia Manzone, originata della casa de' Verhionesi, principalissima, ed antica in Pisa. Il conduttor di lei fù dunque Torpe M., che sotto il Rè Giovanni, fù Capitan d'arme della Valle di Mazzara, da questo nè pervenne Torpe, che fù Giurato di Palermo nel 1545, 1548, 1551, e fù uno de' Giurati che fondarono la Tavola della città
