Vetusta e originaria di Francia, questa Casa è già nota nel secolo XI. Stipite fu Guglielmo Porcelet, gentiluomo francese detto Buono de Core. Quale discendente, fra l'altro, fu Francesco Buonocore, maestro di campo di Filippo II di Spagna, che morì all'assedio di Valmontone nel 1557. Giuseppe fu Vescovo di Lavello; Vincenzo portò per primo il titolo di Conte di Widmann e Gennaro Maria vi aggiunse quello di Conte di Mosenga. Un ramo secondario fu portato nelle Puglie (secolo XIII) ove produsse due Giacomo, entrambi Vescovi di Bitetto (1302 e 1328). Un terzo ramo fu portato nel napoletano che dette un Giovan Battista, celebre pittore, nato a Campli in Abruzzi nel 1643, fu ricevuto a Roma quale membro dell'Accademia di San Luca. Nel 1763 questa famiglia venne ammessa nei Reggimenti Nazionali, ottenendo parere favorevole dalla Giunta di Guerra e marina per la promozione al grado di Capitano nel Reggimento di Abruzzo
