Diese Familie ist alt und römisch edel. Antonio de Petris berichtet im Tagebuch 1414, wie die kapitolinischen Offiziere mit Zustimmung des Papstes für das römische Volk gewählt wurden, was eine neue Sache war, darunter auch Nicolò Marcellini. Abbate Paolo de Angelis, in der Beschreibung der Basilika Santa Maria Maggiore, in lib. 3, Kap. 7, sagt, dass Muzio Marcellini im Jahr 1440 Kanoniker der gleichen Basilika war. Petrone sagt im Tagebuch 1436, dass Paolo Mrcellini einer der römischen Herren war, die von Papst Eugen IV. Mit prächtigen Kleidern beschenkt wurden; und unter dem 3. September 1463 heißt es: Oddo Marcellini, Kanoniker des Petersdoms, starb. Ughelli von Corrado Marcellini, der vom Bistum Montefeltro in das von Terracina versetzt wurde, spricht in Italien, lib. 3. Plakette in der Kirche der SS. Apostel. Der besagte Corrado, Bischof von Terracina, von 1489 gründet die Kapelle von S. Sebastiano in der Kirche von S. Marcello, in
