Ancient and noble Spanish family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. Berenguer March, from Catalunya, settled his family in Mallorca. He was in fact involved in the conquest of the island and benefited from the distribution of land, with the Bini-Calam farm, in the Montuiri district. Don José María March, born in Palma de Mallorca on February 24, 1804, was appointed Treasurer of the Public Treasury of the then province of Canarias, and he married Doña Juana de la Ascensión Elvira Josefa Joaquina García de Mesa, born in La Laguna de Tenerife on May 15, 1822. The marriage took place in the Parroquia del Sagrario, on December 24, 1841. From this union were born: 1) Don José María Joaquín, Lieutenant General of the Royal Armies, born on October 7, 1842 and married to Doña Josefa Cañamás Feliú of whom he had two children; 2)
