Antiga e nobre família Guelph de Ferrara, originária da Bulgária, de virtude clara e ancestral, conhecida como Marchesello, Marchesiello ou Marcheselli, que se espalhou pelo mundo ao longo dos séculos. Descendente do conde Adelardo (século XII), a família se dividiu em três grandes linhas, uma delas em Rovigo, a segunda em Ancona e a terceira em Ferrara. Aqui alguns de seus membros eram magistrados dos Doze Anciãos e Capitães do Povo. Um Marchesello foi feito marquês da "Marca Anconitana" e deixou seu nome para seus descendentes. Guglielmo M., no ano de 795, foi nomeado capitão-chefe. Outro ramo. Família nobre de Bolonha.
