Si ritiene che questa famiglia sia uno dei numerosi rami in cui si divisero quelli di Milano; ma la genealogia accertata risale soltanto fino ad un Giulio Cesare, vissuto nella prima metà del XVIII secolo a Cremona. Suo figlio Antonio, che si distinse per i molti e grandi sussidi prestati all'esercito austriaco e per la somma fedeltà che mostrò nell'amministrazione del R. Erario, acquistò con istrumento 8 luglio 1752, rogato dal notaio Pier Francesco Campagnani, il feudo di Marcignago ed uniti nella Campagna Soprana Pavese, che, previo R. Assenso accordato con Cesareo Rescritto in data 27 marzo precedente, gli vendette per L. 8000 il sergente maggiore Diego de Portugal conte della Puebla. Su detto feudo, con diploma dell'imperatrice Maria Teresa 10 agosto 1752, interinato dal Senato di Milano il 15 settembre successivo, appoggiò il titolo di conte (mpr.), con facoltà di poter trasmettere il titolo non soltanto al suo primogenito
