Antigua y noble familia Patrizia di Fano, originaria de Mondavio, fuerte castillo del vicariato de Fano. Reconoce como progenitor a Ser Giovanni, que vivió alrededor de 1450. De él Mariotto, de donde Gian Ludovico, quien al casarse con el Nob. Battista Torelli di Fano vino a establecerse en Fano, donde en 1531 fue admitido en el noble consejo. Mariotto, de Gian Ludovico, fue anterior en 1570. Girolamo, di Mariotto, 1570, fue estimado capitán. Annibale, di Mariotto, 1579, concejal. Alejandro, de Francesco, de Gian Ludovico, nacido el 21 de octubre de 1557, fue "la noble lanza rota del duque de Urbino".
