Antica e nobile famiglia Patrizia di Fano, originaria di Mondavio, forte castello del vicariato fanese. Riconosce come capostipite un Ser Giovanni, vivente nel 1450 circa. Da lui Mariotto, da cui Gian Ludovico, il quale sposando la Nob. Battista Torelli di Fano venne a stabilirsi a Fano, dove nel 1531 fu ammesso al nobile Consiglio. Mariotto, di Gian Ludovico, nel 1570 fu priore. Girolamo, di Mariotto, 1570, fu stimato capitano. Annibale, di Mariotto, 1579, consigliere. Alessandro, di Francesco, di Gian Ludovico, nato 21 ottobre 1557, fu "Nobile Lancia spezzata del Duca di Urbino". Nel 1570 vestì per giustizia l'abito di cavaliere di San Maurizio di Savoia. Francesco, di Alessandro nacque 1598, fu canonico regolare di S.Salvatore nel 1615 con il nome di Don Innocenzo. Girolamo, di Alessandro, nato nel 1579; fu consigliere e Priore.
