Da questo Marino e da origine comune coi Bottaini e coi Federici di Val Camonica sono discesi i Marenzi di Bergamo, di Sarnico, di Tagliuno e di Telgate, e poi i nobili ed i conti di Bergamo, ed i conti, baroni e marchesi di Trieste. A Telgate essi successero ai Vavassori nel dominio del Castello. A Trieste prese dimora verso il 1560 Luigi Marenzi, luogotenente imperiale, consigliere dell'arciduca Carlo, capitano di cento uomini d'armi contro i turchi in Croazia. da lui discesero Antonio, vescovo di Trieste ed i cavalieri gerosolimitani Paolo e Cesare 1669.
