The family is of Piedmontese origin and properly from Asti. With RD 28 December 1924 of motu proprio, King Vittorio Emanuele II granted the hereditary title of count for masculine birthright to the brothers Giulio and Vincenzo. With another RD of March 5, 1925 and RR. LL. PP. on December 13, 1925, the aforementioned noble coat of arms was granted to them. Nicola, father of the honored, took part in the Italian-Austrian war with the rank of colonel in the 2nd bersaglieri. He was wounded on August 16, 1915 and died in Milan in the Zonda Pavilion on September 13, 1915. He was awarded the silver medal for military valor with the following motivation: "Successful with energetic and incessant care in the preparation of his own regiment, he was example to his inferiors in repeated daring reconnaissance.
