Attribuée au conseil noble de Vicence et récompensée du titre de comte, elle fut confirmée noble par résolution souveraine le 14 juillet 1820. Ses tombes se trouvent dans les églises de S. Corona, S. Lorenzo et dans la cathédrale. A cette famille appartenait le titre de comte, titre qui était élevé par les empereurs à ceux qui étaient à leurs côtés. Parmi ces comtes furent choisis ceux qui devaient surveiller les offices du palais royal, et d'autres furent envoyés au gouvernement des provinces de l'empire et à la garde des frontières. Il y avait aussi d'autres chefs, sans rapport avec les offices susmentionnés, tels que ceux affectés à l'annona, au commerce; et même les administrateurs de l'armée avaient ce titre. Au temps des Goths, la dignité de comte était conservée par de nombreux fonctionnaires publics ; et les Lombards disaient encore leurs gouverneurs comtes ou castaldi.
