Noblesse de l'élection d'Issoireque l'on trouve aussi sous le nom de Matussieres. Fixée dans notre région, le 25 janvier 1764, par le mariage de Jean-Martin de Matucieres écuyer, seigneur de la Brugière, fils de Guillaume demeurant à Sauxillanges, et de Françoise Gourbeyre, avec Marie-Thérèse du Saunier de Mercoeur baronne de Rochegude. Plusieurs officiers d'armée au XVIIIème siècle. Un membre de cette famille après avoir fait partie de la coalition d'Auvergne en 1791, fut guillotiné à Paris. Eteinte en la personne de Louise de Matucières de Mercoeur, fille d'Aimé et de Gabrielle de Romanet de Lestrange marié le 4 avril 1856 avec Anatole de Cassagnes-Beaufort marquis de Miramon. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on a reproduit ci-contre et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique la certitude d'une valeur remarquable.
