This surname has French origin. Its site was located in the city of Mauleón-Soule, the capital of the canton and district in the Lower Pyrenees, from which it perhaps took its name. One of the Navarrese houses that the aforementioned French knights founded, resided in the town of Traibuenas, of the Murillo el Cuende Town Hall and the Tafalla judicial district. From it came, through junctions, the Marquesses of Cortes and Counts of Castrillo. Manuel de M. Haro y Avellaneda, fourth Earl of Castrillo, was created on October 3, 1690 by King Carlos II, Great of Spain - He married Doña Juana. Another M. Navarrese house settled in the Guereta neighborhood, near the town of Arróniz, from the Estella judicial district. From it came Francisco M., a neighbor
