la famiglia di Cagli è oriunda di Fratta Tiberina, oggi Umbertide (Perugia). Essa al principio del secolo XIX si divise in due rami: uno restò in Umbertide e fu aggregato alla Nobiltà di S. Leo; l'altro invece trasmigrò a Cagli quando Giuseppe Mavarelli nel 1818 sposò la nobile Elisabetta Druda di Cagli, la quale essendo ultima di sua famiglia obbligò il marito e discendenti, ad aggiungere il cognome Druda e ad inquartarne lo stemma. In tale occasione il suddetto Giuseppe fu ascritto con tutti i discendenti alla Nobiltà di Cagli. La famiglia Druda è antica in Cagli dal secolo XIII. Dette famosi personaggi fra cui Baldante Druda, cancelliere del Duca di Urbino nel 1536 e Gonfaloniere in patria nel 1557. Giacomo, suo nipote, 1594, valoroso condottiero al servizio della Repubblica veneta; ed altri che si illustrarono nelle lettere e nella prelatura.
