Famiglia che esisteva già in Aosta sul principio del XIV secolo. Il primo di cui si abbia conoscenza è un nobile Guglielmo, famoso giureconsulto del Conte Aimone, specialmente riguardo alle controversie fra i cittadini borghesi di Aosta ed i Signori di Quart; e fu dietro i suoi consigli che il principe emanò la sua sentenza il 16 Apr. 1337. Girando, suo figlio, fu balivo di Aosta e castellano di Chatel-Argent, nel 1414 per il Conte Amedeo. Inoltre Francesco, figlio del precedente,fu notaro e segretario dello stesso principe nel 1430; Giacomo, figlio di Francesco, comparve nel rango dei nobili nelle udienze generali che, il Duca Amedeo, detto il beato, tenne in Aosta nel mese di Agosto del 1466.
