Familia noble, originaria de la isla de Procida, adscrita, desde tiempos muy remotos, al patriciado de Vitulano, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. Este linaje, como lo demuestran los documentos y escrituras notariales, desde los primeros tiempos, dio luz a personajes de grandes virtudes, entre los cuales, recordamos: Escipión, escritor e historiador, que floreció en Procida, alrededor de mediados del siglo XVI, cuya La obra más famosa es la "Descripción del Reino de Nápoles". (Nápoles, GB Cappello, 1586), quien fue definido por GD Rogadei, en 1767, "el escritor más útil de las cosas de este Reino"; Saverio, de Procida, doctor en "utroque jure", que floreció en 1592; D. Carlo, canon y pronóstol apostólico, viviendo en Nápoles, en 1612; Antonio, un claro jurisconsulto, autor de numerosos ensayos, viviendo en Nápoles, en 1634; Giovanni, capitán de justicia, viviendo en Benevento, en 1642; Gio.
