Dice Baños de Velasco que tuvo s casa cerca de la villa de Villa Real de Urrechu, del partido de Vergara (Guipúzcoa), en el llamado valle de Villarreal, que él, equivocadamente, dice que está en Vizcaya. Son sus armas: De oro, con un chevrón de azur, cargado de tres estrellas de oro y acompañado de tres lobos de sable, andantes en los ángulos. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la corte personal de Doña Urraca López de Haro, nombrada señora de Estella a primeros del siglo XIII. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Mediaras.
