Ancient and very noble family of the Kingdom of Naples, originally from Lucania but with nuclei also in Campania and Calabria, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various cities of Italy and the world, with more conspicuous settlements in Latin America. Originally from the city of Rivello, where he resided in the Rione Rotale, this noble prosapia reached its maximum splendor in the eighteenth century, when Count Gio. Battista Megale married Baroness Curcio di Polla, direct nephew of Prince Caracciolo of Naples. Both resided in the imposing family palace, whose origins date back to the year one thousand and which bears the Megale coat of arms, whose elements refer to an oriental origin of the family. The Palace is also distinguished by the important frescoes, made by the young Lanziani painter from Lauria who will then also paint the vaults of the church of San Nicola.
