The Mei family of Castelfidardo recognizes as their progenitor a living saint between the XVIII and XVIII centuries. It was among the main ones of its homeland and said clear characters. We must remember an Andrea, renowned jurisconsult, Archpriest in Belvedere Ostrense where he built the church of S. Maria at his own expense; died in 1821 in the 1980s. Teodoro, a well-known lawyer in S. Rota, left his rich library to his nephews Giov. Battista and Andrea, from Sante. He died in 1839 about 50 years. These in 1855 donated it to the Municipality of Ancona which on that occasion decorated them and descendants of the title of Nobles of Ancona. Gio. Battista above, was born on February 7th. 1819, he held important positions under the Pontifical Government and then under the Italian one. Partito: nel primo troncato: a) di azzurro a tre gigli di argento sotto un lambello a 4 pendenti di rosso; b) di verde al monte di tre cime all'italiana di argento sormontato da un picchio al naturale, con la fascia d'oro attraversante sulla partizione caricata di tre stelle d'argento di 6 punte (Mei); nel secondo di azzurro all'agnello di argento, sorreggente una bandierina di rosso biforcata, passante su pianura erbosa uscente dalla punta, accompagnato in capo da una cometa in palo accostata da due stelle (6) il tutto d'oro (Gentilucci).
