Die alte Pistoia-Familie hat den Edelmetall-Silberschild, der nicht nur für den Welfen-Teil charakteristisch ist, sondern auch eine reiche Symbolik aufweist. Tatsächlich haben die Menschen in den Thrakern die glücklichen Tage mit einem weißen Stein und die unglücklichen mit einem anderen schwarzen markiert. In Ägypten wurden die Leichen der Adligen in weiße Bandagen gewickelt, das ägyptische griechische und römische Priestertum in Weiß gekleidet und bevor die Könige Purpur trugen, verwendeten sie diese Farbe. Die Freundschaft wurde von einer Frau in Weiß dargestellt, aber ungefähr, weil das weiße Kleid rau ist, ist die einfache Offenheit der Seele. Per l'ammissione di Andrea Mei alla nobiltà di Pescia nel 1773 vennero presentati entrambi gli stemmi, ma nel Libro d'oro passò solo il secondo.
