Família antiga e nobre originária de Roma. O comendador GB de Crollalanza relata o brasão desta família nos volumes de seu histórico dicionário de brasões das nobres e notáveis famílias italianas. Esta família disse que escritores antigos certamente foram incluídos entre os que foram coletados no Livro Dourado do Capitólio. Da bibiografia documentada nos manuscritos do Vaticano, pode ser visto o número relativamente pequeno de memórias sobre famílias romanas. Se omitirmos as fontes suspeitas de Ceccarelli, Fanusio, Metallino cujas fábulas foram parcialmente aceitas por Iacovacci; nos resta o vasto repertório deste último. Observando que não há nobre romano, mas há um grande volume no Arquivo Secreto da Santa Sé intitulado: Famílias atribuídas ao livro de ouro do Capitólio. De fato, o livro foi destruído pela revolução, mas a lista que Bento XIV nos deu em sua constituição Urbem Roman de janeiro de 1746, e com base no próprio Pio IX
