Antica e nobile famiglia originaria di Cremona. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane. Altro ramo. Appartiene a questa nobile famiglia il Padre Giovanni-Antonio, agostiniano, che fu dottore per otto anni e lettore nel Collegio della Sorbona a Parigi, poi confessore di Lucrezia Borgia a Ferrara, e morì a Crema nel 1528 lasciando molte opere a stampa. (Estinta nel 1611). Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali, come Ecclesiastici, e per ogno altro preggio di Cavalleria nobilissimi
