Chiamata anticamente Rosatici. Leonardo resse la pretura di Camerino nel 1488; Jacopo ebbe il vicariato generale di Ravenna e quello dell'Aquila; e Nicolò il 25 Nov. 1648 vestì l'abito dell'Ordine militare di S. Stefano. Le volpi in questo stemma sono simbolo di: sagacità, di astuzia, di finezza, di ingegno, di simulazione e d'arccottezza. Fin dalla favole di Esopo questo animale è ritenuto la personificazione dell'astuzia. Il Capitano Curio Boldiere alzò a propria insegna una lancia impugnata con in cima legata una code di volpe, con il motto Utramvis, per dire che egli conquistava o con la forza delle armi o con l'astuzia della volpe. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre
