Durante varios siglos se ha encontrado entre las familias nobles de Ceneda unidas a ese consejo que ahora ha cesado. Se confirmó noble con una resolución soberana el 28 de octubre de 1823. Por estas razones, la familia Mestre tomó el apellido de la ciudad cercana a Venecia, de donde se originó. Lo mismo puede decirse de esta familia.
