Antigua y noble familia de Ostra (Ancona) anteriormente Montalboddo. Una rama de la antigua familia Menchi en 1400 los cambió a los que actualmente se conservan, por lo que todos los descendientes de esa rama continuaron siendo llamados. De modo que la nobleza de esta familia se remonta a los años 1200, siempre ocupando posiciones que estaban reservadas solo a los nobles. En 1600 siempre se menciona inter conspicuas familias Piceni y en la Biblioteca Legal de la Fuente recuerda a Octavia como médico emérito. Cuando en 1790 Montalboddo, entonces Ostra, fue elevado a la ciudad y entró en ese Libro de Oro en la persona de Anton Francesco. Era la costumbre de las familias más antiguas, que después de la caída del Imperio Romano, en esa inundación de bárbaros, perdieron y dejaron sus apellidos, así como sus estudios y otras cosas hermosas solo con nombres simples, volvieron a dibujar
