Troviamo questa famiglia in Mazzara nella persona di un Pietro che tenne in detta città la carica di capitano di giustizia negli anni 1541, 1546-47; troviamo pure un Antonio barone di Montefranco nella prima metà del secolo XVII. Secondo noi, non aveva con essi alcuna relazione di parentela quell'Andrea, da Favara, che acquistò la baronia di Fontana degli Angeli, della quale ottenne investitura il 26 ottobre 1812. Di detto titolo di barone ebbe riconoscimento con Decreto del 1927 la signora Angela, di Antonio, di Giuseppe. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
