Spanischer Familienname. Es kommt von M. de Campos, Frechillas Justizpartei in Palencia. Es stammt vom Königshaus von León ab. Ein Zweig ging nach Portugal. Don Fernando M. Pacheco y Silva wurde ab 1650 als Marqúes de Alconchel gegründet. Die Familie M. wurde auf den Kanarischen Inseln durch Pedro Fernández, Bachelor in Jurisprudence, gegründet, der mit seiner Frau Sancha Méndez de M aus Lepe in Huelva stammte und de los Ríos, 1501 auf die Insel Teneriffa, wo er laut Chronist Núñez de la Peña als Siedler Landverteilung erhielt. Aus dieser Ehe gingen sechs Kinder hervor, von denen das erste Francisco Fernández de M. ist, der der Linie folgt. Er heiratete zweimal; die erste mit Jacobina de Vergara und de la Tienda, Tochter des Konquistadors Juan de Vergara Carvajal, und die zweite mit Doña Catalina Peraza de Ayala aus der Casa de los Condes de la Gomera, Witwe von Juan Alonso Carrasco,
