Diogo Rodrigues, Duque das Astúrias, Rico-Homem em 1063.De seu trineto, D.Afonso Tello de Menezes, Senhor de Valladolid e Menezes, Senhorio de que tomou o nome, o qual casou com D.tereja, filha do Rei de Portugal D.Sancho I.Seu trineto D.João Afonso de Menezes, casou com uma filha de Lopo Fernandes Pacheco, sr de Ferreira de Aves, e foi pai do Conde de Viana, D.João Afonso Tello de Menezes, de quem procedem os Condes, depois Duques de Vila Real, os Condes de Tarouca, depois Marqueses de Penalva e Alegrete e outras muitas Casas Titulares portuguesas.
