Mit Beschluss vom 13. Juni 1850 schlug die Magistratur von San Miniato vor, den aus Primien stammenden Anwalt Primo di Fabio, Sekretär des Finanzministeriums und Kommandeur des Ordens von S. Stefano, der Adelsklasse dieser Stadt zu registrieren. Dieser Vorschlag fand wohlwollende Akzeptanz im souveränen Reskript vom 25. Juni dieses Jahres. Die Familie ist allgemein in der offiziellen italienischen Adelsliste von 1922 eingetragen, mit dem Titel des Adligen von San Miniato (männlich und weiblich) in der Person der Nachkommen von Jacopo, Primo, di Fabio; und wird vertreten durch: Giulietta, di Jacopo, di Primo, di Fabio in Gagliardi. Es war Brauch der ältesten Familien, die nach dem Untergang des Römischen Reiches in dieser Flut der Barbaren, deren Nachnamen sowie ihre Studien und andere schöne Dinge verloren gingen und nur mit einfachen Namen zurückblieben, ihre Nachnamen wieder zeichneten und ihre Familie mit väterlichen Eigennamen und von den wichtigsten.
